Introduction to Portfolio Project

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! I know you guys have missed me :). Today is the start of the famous Portfolio Project. You guys might be asking yourselves "What is the Portfolio Project?" The Portfolio Project is where AICE Media students showcase what they have learned throughout the year and create a beautiful production out of it. AICE Media students are given four options to choose from to complete the project. These include:

1.  Music Promotion Package (Music Video, Social Media Page for band/artist, and a Digipak).

2.  Film Promotion Package (Two film trailers, Social Media Page, and a Poster).

3.  Documentary Package (Documentary, Social Media Page, and a Magazine Article).

4. Short Film Package (Short Film, Social Media Page, and Postcard Advertisement).

Now that you guys have seen each option, you might be wondering "Which option will Morgan choose?" Well, you guys are in luck because I am about to tell you! I have chosen to do Option 2: Film Promotion Package!

As a reminder, this project includes two film trailers, a social media page, and a poster. Each trailer must be two minutes long.  The trailers must be a preview or coming attraction to the movie, and give the audience a hint of what to expect from the film. In addition, trailers illustrate the concept, style, and theme of the featured film. Moving on, let us discuss social media pages. Social media pages are essential for the advertisement and/or marketing of your film. In other words, social media pages allow filmmakers to connect with their audience, promote their projects, and display their work. Lastly, posters are important for the overall success of a film. Posters serve as promotional tools and offer glimpses or hints to the tone, setting, and plot of the movie being advertised.

Well, now you guys are well acquainted with the basis of my Portfolio Project! Over the next nine weeks, I will be providing you guys with copious details about my research, planning, production, and post-production process! I have a lot in store for you guys and I am very excited. See you on the next post!
