Research/Planning for Portfolio Project

Good morning readers, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today, I will be giving you guys the title of my film. In addition, I will be going over the outline/synopsis of my film. This blog post will be one for the books, so BUCKLE UP!

Before I reveal the title of my film, I must go over what a title is! Some of you might already know what a title is, although I will still explain for those that do not. Regarding this project, a title is basically the name of a film. Titles are your audience's initial impression of what your screenplay is about. Additionally, titles provide an initial connection between your audience and the film. Every film must have a title. The title that is chosen sets the tone or mood of your movie and gives your audience a hint of what to expect. Ultimately, titles can make or break a film!

Now that I have given you all background information on what a title of a production is, I will reveal to you guys the title of my film...

The title of my film is Only Mine.

Some of you all might be wondering "Why that name"? To answer your question, 'Only Mine' is a great representation of the plot of my film. As a reminder, my film surrounds a teenage girl and her obsessive boyfriend. This teenage girl is known as Sarah and her boyfriend's name is Jacob. As time progresses in Jacob and Sarah's relationship, Jacob becomes more aggressive and infatuated with Sarah. He has the mentality that Sarah is all for him and no one else. As I explain my film more, you all will definitely understand why I chose 'Only Mine' as the title.

A film synopsis or outline is basically a scene-by-scene breakdown of the entire story of your screenplay. An outline can be as detailed as the writer wants it to be. For example, it can be a basic breakdown of story elements. Or, it can be very thorough, including some types of action and dialogue. The main purpose of a film outline is to help the audience envision the story. The audience is able to do this because the story is broken down into chunks or sections. As a result, storytelling becomes more manageable. The audience is able to focus on sections of the story and see how each section works together.
